Scots Hockey Association 2010-2011 Letter from the President
To all
Dallas Scots Players and Parents, both current and prospective:
As
we move into the new season, the Scots are also moving into a new era. I want to
begin by saying that we are off to an exciting start. I know the rumors have
been flying and I want to lay them to rest right now. I want everyone to know
that we are very committed to our new affiliation with the Allen Event Center,
the Allen Americans & the City of Allen. The Scots are relocating all official
hockey operations to Allen, including practices, games and various camps and
events. We are signing a multiple-year deal to keep the Scots Home Ice at the
Allen Event Center. We have been working to ensure players and parents more
value for their time and money while simultaneously lowering prices. The Scots
will continue to offer top-quality coaching and now we can offer a true
world-class ice facility. As of the 2010 – 2011 Season, we will be THE premier
travel hockey association for the Allen Events Center! This new affiliation will
be immensely beneficial to our players, our parents, our coaches, and to the
organization as a whole. We will be providing more information and news as we
continue onward with this exciting new period in our history.
In addition to moving all
hockey operations to the Allen Events Center, we are adding some high caliber
coaches to the organization. As of this season we are proud to announce that
Sergei V. Bautin, Jeff Ramsay, Steven Dykstra and Steve Steen will be joining
us. Sergei is an Olympic Gold Medalist and NHL Veteran. Jeff Ramsay played AAA
hockey in Winnipeg, Manitoba for 5 years and Junior Hockey for 4 years. Steve
Dykstra is a NHL veteran and very experienced coach and Steve Steen has been a
very successful Dallas area coach for many years and is bringing his vast
coaching experience to the Scots in the upcoming season. We are pleased to
welcome all of our new coaches to an already stellar line-up and we know that
their expertise and experience will be immeasurably valuable. Please feel free
to read more about all of our coaches, current and incoming, in their in-depth
bios in the "Coaches / Teams" section of the website.
It’s going to be an exciting time to be a Scot and we
are looking forward to a momentous inaugural season at the Allen Events Center.
I know that with the continued success of our players, parents, board and
coaches, The Scots Hockey Association will be second to none. We will continue
to develop our program to give our players the best possible training and
experience. Scots players see an average of over 100 hours of ice a season, 40
hours of strength and conditioning training, as well as technical skills
sessions, power skating sessions, training aids like Rapidshot™ & Boni™ shot
training systems, skate maintenance, group events, tournament travel and many
new additions to the program. We are so proud of our players, our families, and
our coaches and we know that their hard work will continue to build and
strengthen The Scots Hockey Association. I would like to be the first to welcome
you all to a new age in Scots Hockey, and if you are still looking for a home
for hockey, we hope you will make it right here with The Scots Hockey
Association!
