Coach Steve Dykstra is a native of Edmonton, Alberta.  After two seasons playing in Canadian Juniors, the Buffalo Sabres signed Steve in 1982.  That was the start of his professional hockey career, which spanned 13 years and included three championships at various levels, including a Stanley Cup Championship.  Steve began coaching youth hockey as a way to give back to the game he loves.  As a coach, Steve incorporates a mix of his own philosophy with those he learned from his former coaches Scotty Bowman and Mike Keenan, who are some of the most successful in NHL history. Steve’s success as a player is reflected in his success as a coach having won several championships, most recently, a 2010 National Championship with a Dallas Midget Major AA team. Steve is excited to again team up with Coach Jeff Ramsay in hopes of repeating last year’s success of a National Championship.  "I am thrilled to join the coaching staff of the Scots.  It’s a great environment to develop young players with the best coaches in DFW hockey.”Steve is the SouthCentral District Sales Manager for Ecolab Inc. of Minneapolis and resides in Wylie, Texas with his wife Christine and son Cameron who is a PeeWee 98 player.
